Wembley Downs sits north west of the Perth CBD, and is considered an inner suburb of the city. It is just 10km from the central city, making it the perfect area for those community to jobs or study within Perth or nearby northern suburbs. The name Wembley Downs originated from the name of the suburb’s major golf course – which still stands as a big attraction for those in the area and beyond.

There is one primary school within Wembley Downs and several in neighbouring suburbs, and the prestigious private Hale School is also situated within the area. There are several nature reserves within Wembley Downs, as well as easy access to recreational facilities and sporting activities. The suburb offers all the usual amenities, and ‘The Downs’ shopping centre is a local staple. Wembley Downs doesn’t have its own train station but there are several very close by, including Stirling and Glendalough stations.

The stations and local buses provide an easy route to the CBD, nearby beaches, other northern suburbs and further afield south of the river. For those wishing to study, both UWA and ECU are extremely accessible from Wembley Downs. The suburb is highly sought after, and considered to be one of the more popular northern suburbs due to its proximity to the city, access to nearby amenities and affordable house prices. Its primary population is established young couples and families, as well as older couples and those on their way to retirement.
